Suede FX Suede FX consists of fine-grained porcelain beads that, when mixed with satin paint, will totally immerse themselves in the paint to achieve a slightly textured, suede appearance. This product will create beautiful old world wall effects and Venetian plaster effects for much less money than you may spend on comparable products. I also use it to create the grout or mortar look on my stone walls. How about using it to create depth in your faux bricks? The number of uses are only limited by your imagination. Suede FX can be added to any color of water-based satin paint to get a suede look. Adding Suede FX to a satin paint gives you unlimited options for smoother textured looks. Unlike other additives of this sort, the surface will not scratch and/or leave white marring. It can be sanded without producing tiny dust particles into the air. If at a later date the client wants another finish, just paint two coats of any paint over the surface and it will cover the Suede FX. The recommended mixture is one quart of Suede FX to one gallon of paint or one part Suede FX to four parts paint. The cost of the Suede FX ranges from .06 to .19 cents per square foot. It can be applied with a roller, brush or trowel. The durability depends on the quality of the paint with which you mix it. If the finish is in a high traffic area, apply one or two coats of a satin or matte varnish over the surface. Coverage: 1/4 more than the coverage indicated on your gallon of paint.
