Glazing Liquid™
For expert
wall glazing, All-In-One Glazing Liquid™ is made of quality
ingredients that maintain the bonding and adhesive qualities of paint, goes on
smoothly, and adds the translucency required for faux finishing.
All-in-one Glazing Liquid has an extender to give hours of open time for
drying, and has a sealer that makes your creation washable and saves the time of
applying additional protective coats of varnish or other medium. This water-based
product can be used on exterior and interior surfaces. It has a low odor and is
easy to clean. It works well for
painting,
sponging, glazing,
marbleized
wall glazing, and much more.
The idea of faux finish techniques is to add layers of
translucent color to give depth, texture, and/or movement to a wall, furniture,
etc. Paint is opaque in nature and some type of ingredient, such as All-In-One
Glazing Liquid™, must be added to bring the opaque level to a
translucent level.
When mixing All-in-one Glazing Liquid with the
paint, the paint color remains true with no dilution because the recipe is one part
All-in-one Glazing Liquid to one part paint. This reduces the cost
compared with other products that require four parts glaze to one part paint.
All-in-one Glazing Liquid™ is a transparent medium with no drying
agents. Paint has a large proportion of drying agents that All-in-one Glazing
Liquid will diminish.
All-in-one Glazing Liquid™ assumes the sheen level of
the paint used. If a satin paint is used, it will remain a satin mixture. A
liquid Universal Tint, or powdered Terra Nova Pigment
can be mixed with the All-In-One Glazing Liquid™ to create a
unique glaze. It will remain open longer because there are no drying agents in
tints or pigments and it will dry as a matte sheen.
Coverage: 300 - 1,200 square feet per quart depending on
absorbency of the surface.
Open
Time Extender™
A reliable
paint
extender is critical to the faux finisher. OPEN TIME EXTENDER™ is a water soluble oil.
As a paint extender, when mixed with most WATER BASED glazing liquids, it will extend the open time
of your glaze or paint. This allows the artist time to manipulate the product until the
desired effect has been achieved.
Tools and hands will clean up easily with water. It is clear
in color so the paint extender will not affect the color of the paint or glaze. Recommended mixture is
one part Open Time Extender to 3 parts paint. This mixture will
vary according to sheen levels and quality of the paints. The shinier surface
the less Open Time Extender is required. A surface such as PVC
columns will require less Open Time Extender because the
paint/glaze will not penetrate the surface.
